	AIDS in Ethiopia Online Database presents indicators derived from estimations and projections produced by the Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia during the preparation of the AIDS in Ethiopia: 6th Report. This online database is an easy-to-use web based system that makes basic HIV/AIDS indicators available to public health professionals, researchers and the public at large. The system will enable you to query for a specific indicator filtered by region, period, residence, age category and gender. The site also contains publications and charts related to AIDS in Ethiopia report. Please read on Help for more on data extraction.
		Two HIV prevalence rates had been determined following national exercises conducted in Ethiopia. One of these used the population-based method and the other used sentinel surveillance based on ANC (ante-natal care) for pregnant women. The Federal HIV/AIDS Control Office (FHAPCO) initiated a task force to attempt to reconcile these two estimates with a view of establishing one single estimate. Note: The data generated from this database should not be used as the latest figure for Ethiopia. The latest figure for Ethiopia and the regions in all indicator category has been changed and released in June 2007 as Single Point HIV Prevalence Estimate. (700 KB PDF format )
