The Regional
Appraisal Board main duty
is to review and approve or
reject proposals for financial
support as received by the
Regional Coordination Office
from NGOs, POs and CBOs for
activities aimed at alleviating
the impact and curbing the
spread of HIV/AIDS.
The Board
is composed of a minimum of
seven competent representatives
from different Bureaus and
regional NAP+ . The
current Bureaus and organizations
part of the board are listed
below.

During the appraisal
process the board will
ensure that
- The proposing agency
is a duly constituted legal
entity.
- The organizations and
individuals applying for
funding have the financial
capacity to raise their
share of the cost and have
a proper financial accounting
and reporting system in
place.
- The proposal contributes
to the objectives of the
Project.
- The proposed intervention
is cost effective, technically
and financially sound, and
socially and ethically acceptable
- The proposed intervention
adheres to environmental
soundness and gender-sensitive
principles
- The proposal has clear
mechanisms for achieving
its goals.
- The proposal includes
clear monitoring indicators.
The board meets
depending on the number of
project proposals submitted
to be reviewed to review proposals
received by the coordination
office, communicate results,
feedback and comments to the
applicants, and report status
to the coordination office.
