Located near the Bole International Airport, the venue is very convenient and provides ample space for the different ICASA 2011 activities. The installations will allow the Millennium Hall host the 16th ICASA to the highest international standards.
The Millennium Hall has been used to host different occasions, from local and international summits to grand exhibitions and concerts. The hall will go through a major transformation that will make the venue suitable for the different scientific programs, including the various sessions and exhibitions that will be held during ICASA 2011. The venue will have 14 session rooms for all breakout sessions. Half of the session rooms will be within the hall and the other half will be installed in the compound, and will serve the other programs as well. The session rooms will be sound proof and air conditioned.
Meanwhile, the set up for community village and exhibition spaces is well on track, along with different amenities like cafeteria, water points, VIP and Positive lounges and a media center to be installed shortly. Moreover, state of the art fiber optic installations will maximize wireless internet access to different local and international media for online reports and blogging.
According to Eng. Elias G/Mariam, Facility Manager for venue installations, different local and international experts are engaged in intensive and wide-ranging works. These experts are working overtime and will successfully deliver the ICASA 2011 venue within schedule. The ICASA 2011 Venue Managing Committee is working closely with the experts to ensure quality and timely completion of conference venue.
