Top-level Health Delegation Visits Ethiopia, Highlights Power of Partnership in Fighting Disease

U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt and a high-level delegation visited Ethiopia August 9-13 to witness the strong cooperation between the U.S. and Ethiopia in reducing the spread of diseases including HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria. The visit, conducted in close cooperation with Ethiopia’s Minister of Health, Dr. Tewdros Adhanom, showcased the power of partnerships between the American and Ethiopian people in promoting global health.

Monthly HIV Care and ART Update (Ginbot 2000 E.C. or June 2008)

The MoH and HAPCO published the monthly update on ART in Ethiopia, "HIV Care and ART Update" (as of Jun 10, 2008). The update lists ART uptake by site and number of new enrolled patients in Ethiopia as of the above mentioned date.

The Modeling and Reinforcement to Combat HIV/AIDS (MARCH) model is a behavioral change communication approach that promotes behavioral change in support of HIV prevention, treatment and positive living. The National Defense Forces of Ethiopia (NDFE) MARCH Project and the Federal Police Commission MARCH Project have release new episodes of the comic books.
